Saket

Name : Saket

Education : Sakal Foundation’s scholarship of Rs 40,000 in 2010 helped me finance part of my studies for Masters in Journalism at Ohio University.

Work Experience : After finishing the course, I returned to India and started my career in print journalism at the Free Press Journal in Mumbai in 2011. I mainly worked as a reporter and covered the civic and legal beats. To be fair, I struggled in my early days, and couldn’t really find my feet as a reporter in a new city.

I’ve always loved sports, and when the chance came, I quickly made a switch to online journalism, joining the sports desk at MSN.com later that year. Sports journalism suited me well, and I learnt the basics of running a news website during my time at MSN.

In 2016, I joined ESPN India as a senior sub editor at their Bangalore office and continue to work there. At ESPN, I’ve had the chance to work with some of the most talented reporters and editors in the industry and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

Special mention for Sakal India Foundation : I am thankful to Sakal foundation for their early assistance in helping me kickstart my career.
